The Three Chain Road & Dawson Highway project is a new local road and highway upgrade project adjacent to and through the Dawson Mine for Anglo American, near Moura in Central Queensland.
The Three Chain Road works are located within the operating mine lease (Dawson Mine leases ML 5591 and ML 5598) and private land. The area of works has been excised from mine operations and works will be carried out under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011. The road and bridge crosses the current mines coal conveyors and CHPP road and through the centre of the mine towards the Dawson Highway.
The Dawson Highway works is the duplication of the existing highway while extending the Three Chain Road bell mouth to facilitate larger haul trucks due to the location against the Aurizon rail line.

Three Chain Road scope involves:
- Clearing/stripping
- Bulk earthworks and embankment fill
- Pavement materials
- 2 cell and 4 cell precast box culvers and precast slabs
- Triple span bridge over road and mine conveyors
- 75m bebo arch
- 3no. 115lm 3m dia CSP culverts
- Rapid Impact Compaction (RIC) foundation improvement
- Wearing surface
- Finishing works
